Usage of chemicals, quality assurance, jar testing and chemical dosing calculations are covered in dedicated chapters, as is operation of clarifiers. The Optimisation of coagulation, flocculation and clarification processes is covered in detail. Further to this there is an overview of softening processes, as well as chemical iron and manganese removal.
