Your opportunity:

Our Field Services team have a full time permanent opportunity for a motivated Water Industry Worker – Team Leader based at Acacia Ridge depot to guide our successful teams that keep water flowing to and from our customers’ properties.

Our teams provide quality, reliable drinking water to our customers and collect and transport wastewater from their properties.  In this role, you’ll lead one of our successful teams that contributes to the repair, reliability and operation of Queensland Urban Utilities’ assets ensuring customers’ expectations are met or exceeded.

The role requires that you be available to work shifts between 6 am and midnight and work 2 weekends in 10 (shift penalties apply). This roster has set, recurrent rostered days off with potential overtime opportunities. In return, we’ll train you in all aspects of the role so that you have real variety and career progression.

About you:

  • Previous experience as a Team Leader or in a similar supervisory capacity in a similar industry – Civil Construction/Maintenance, Plumbing, Water, Utilities
  • Strong leadership skills with a knack for motivating and managing and mentoring a diverse team
  • Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance job evaluations and prioritisation, planning and execution of maintenance jobs, and completing reporting on job outcomes
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset
  • A commitment to safety and quality in every aspect of the job
  • Great communication skills and the ability to work well with customers and colleagues alike
  • MR or HR driver’s licence is mandatory – or willing to obtain prior to employment
  • It is desirable but not essential to have a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations and Frontline Management qualifications.
