Congratulations to all the award winners from the WIOA Victorian Water Industry Operations Conference held in Bendigo.

Awards presented for papers as well as the competitive main tapping competition and Water Taste Test all contributed to another successful event with over 1500 in attendance.

A highlight of the event was the recognition of Life membership to John Harris from Wannon Water.

Conference Awards

Adam Panozzo from North East Water was announced as the 2018 Victorian of the Year at the WIOA Awards Dinner.

The Victorian Young Operator of the Year Award was taken out by Tabatha James from Melbourne Water and the Victorian Network Operator of the Year was awarded to Tim Kiddle from Barwon Water.

Paul Beard from Water Corporation in WA was awarded the Best Paper by an Operator ahead of presentations that were also recognised from Scott Whitehead from Goulburn Valley Water and Simon Palframan from North East Water. The Best Paper Overall was won by Michael Chapman from North East Water.

The Ixom Best Tasting Tap Water in Victoria conducted on Wednesday that saw the Wannon Water sample form the Hamilton WTP awarded the top gong.

Wannon Water will now compete for Australia’s Best Tasting Tap Water at the national championship to be held in Toowoomba on 17 October 2018.
