FIND PURPOSE AND IMPACT

This Water Sewer Compliance Officer is responsible for delivering programs and projects in the areas of water and sewerage compliance including trade waste, backflow prevention, water restrictions and undertake other compliance activities.

The role is also responsible for enhancing the protection of Council’s sewerage system and ensures compliance with Council policy and regulation guidelines. Whilst assisting in project and contract management activities including the supervision of contractors as required.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Assisting in the delivery of Water and Sewerage compliance contracts and projects
  • Ensuring the effective implementation of Council policies in respect to trade waste, backflow prevention devices, fire metering and water metering, water restrictions, illegal activities, and other regulatory matters relating to Council’s water/sewerage clients and customers
  • Undertaking inspections of residential, commercial and industrial properties to ensure compliance with Council policies
  • Undertaking analysis and reporting on trade waste

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

You will be highly motivated, have a high level of communication skills and the ability to effectively negotiate with internal and external stakeholders. You have sound demonstrated computer skills and the ability to analyse data and produce reports.

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in water/sewer industry or related compliance program within a commercial context
  • Completion of the NSW Department of Planning and Environment Liquid Trade Waste Regulation course and or/ a Certificate IV in Water Operations (Trade Waste) or willingness to obtain within 2 years
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare technical and administrative reports and make sound recommendations
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of MS Office software and computerised systems
  • High level written and oral communication skills and effective negotiation skills
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills and attention to detail

Attractive annual salary ranging from $84,829 to $98,586 inclusive of market allowance is on offer.
