Your new role

Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a skilled Process Technician with a passion for electrical systems and SCADA technology to join our Fitzroy River Water team.

You will play a pivotal role in managing, maintaining, and optimizing our infrastructure and systems whilst working closely with engineering and operations teams to implement new systems, upgrades, and modifications.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check – Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

What we are looking for

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to problem resolution.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field (e.g diploma or greater in electrical engineering, computer science) or relevant trade qualifications and extensive experience in relevant process control systems management.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in SCADA system administration and control systems maintenance, or a similar role within an industrial or utility setting.

Application Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field or trade qualifications combined with extensive experience in relevant process control systems management.
  •  Extensive experience managing, evaluating, and maintaining plant process equipment and control systems, including SCADA, PLC’s and radio telemetry.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in computer programming for process control, database management, and electronic surveillance.
  • Highly developed communication skills with the ability to foster relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
