About the role

The Coordinator Mechanical Services is a field-based role, responsible for the coordination and delivery of operational projects and maintenance programs across varying assets. The position will provide leadership and strategic direction to the Mechanical Services team and work closely with all areas of operations.

This role is a full-time opportunity, including a monthly RDO and flexible work options.

As a Coordinator you will lead, motivate, and develop the Mechanical Services team with a safety-first mindset to ensure all team work is performed safely and in accordance with relevant legislation and standards. By remaining pro-active and fostering a culture of safety, you will mitigate the risk of any potential incidents or oversights and promote overall wellbeing and success.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Provide effective leadership to foster a high-performing team environment.
  • Coordinate the effective operations of mechanical assets and systems related to water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Coordinate in-house mechanical services across all locations of North East Water.
  • Coordinate the preventative maintenance strategy and identify improvement opportunities or areas of business risk.
  • Offer technical support to resolve faults and issues within critical infrastructure.
  • Participate in and/or coordinate overtime and emergency response as required.
  • Ensure accurate initiation and completion of all documentation such as timesheets, work orders, and project closures.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Relevant trade qualification and demonstrated experience in Mechanical Fitting and Fabrication; water industry experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to build and coordinate high-performing teams.
  • Significant experience leading with a safety-first mindset and demonstrated commitment to work health safety systems and practices.
  • Demonstrated sound computer skills in a range of software packages including the Microsoft suite and asset and works management systems.
  • Must hold a current driver’s licence and be willing to obtain a medium rigid licence if not currently a licence holder.

Position Information

  • An attractive salary range of $104,078 to $116,623 plus 11% superannuation, depending on skills and experience. This role attracts additional remuneration through allowances and participation in an on-call roster.
  • This is a full time, ongoing position.
