Congratulations to the operators of the Rossarden WTP who were awarded the Ixom 2020 Best Tasting Tap Water in Tasmania, in a closely contested Grand Final against WTP’s form Mole Creek & Bryn Estyn

The community of Rossarden can now celebrate after being acknowledged as having the best tasting tap water in Tasmania.

The 2020 title of the Ixom Australia’s Best Tasting Tap Water will continue in 2020 with state championships throughout the year, culminating in the national title that will be conducted later in 2020.

Congratulations to the operators of the Woolpunda WTP who were awarded the Ixom 2020 Best Tasting Tap Water in South Australia, it is the second time in the last three years they have tasted victory.

The team from SA Water has won the award in 2018.  They competed in the Grand Final against samples from Morgan WTP and Berri WTP.

The plant serves a large distribution network supplying a sparsely populated area including the towns Wunkar and Mantung, as well as country lands, through a network of around 240 km of water mains.

These communities can now celebrate after being acknowledged as having the best tasting tap water in SA.

Congratulations to the operators of the Wauchope WTP who were awarded the Ixom 2020 Best Tasting Tap Water in NSW/ACT.

This is the second win for the team from Port Macquarie Hastings Council has won the award in 2018 with a sample from the Port Macquarie Water Treatment Plant.  this year they competed in the Grand Final against samples form icon water in Canberra and the sample form the Mathoura Water Treatment Plant supplied by the Murray River Council

The water team at the Port Macquarie Hastings Council treats the water from the Hastings River and supplies around 13,000 residents in Wauchope.

The community of Wauchope can now celebrate after being acknowledged as having the best tasting tap water in NSW/ACT.

The 2020 title of the Ixom Australia’s Best Tasting Tap Water will continue in 2020 with state championships throughout the year, culminating in the national title that will be conducted later in 2020.

The PASS (Problem Accepted Solution Supplied) Award received 11 entries this year, all entries will be published in the 2020 pass booklet that will be distributed to members.

The 2020 winner was Scott Kitwood from Gippsland Water for his innovative – Environmental Lagoon Monitoring Attachment “ELMA”

WIOA is excited to again be holding the IXOM Best Tasting Tap Water Competition. Just like at a face-to-face event, WIOA will arrange a number of independent judges who will taste each sample and determine the grand finalists and ultimately, the winner.

Congratulations to all of our members who nominated for positions on the WIOA Executive and General Committee that were elected on Tuesday 21 April 2020.

Heidi Josipovic from Albury City Council was again voted in for her second term as President of WIOA and will be again well supported by Mark Samblebe from MBS Water who was elected as Vice President.

Former  WIOA staff member Kathy Northcott was the only newly elected member to the General Committee.

Outgoing committee members in Lindsay Walsh, Sally Shepherd and Mark Abela were thanked for their contributions to the association.
