Water of Origin

The Water Industry Operations Association (WIOA) hosts an annual event called the Water of Origin.

With a similar rivalry to rugby league’s State of Origin series between the New South Wales Blues and the Queensland Maroons, this competition focuses on the best tasting tap water.

First held in 2014, this competitive competition brings the winners of the Queensland and New South Wales best tasting tap water competitions head-to-head, ultimately deciding who wins the Water of Origin for the year.

Of the 10 events held to date, Queensland leads the winners table 7 to 3.

Sponsored by IXOM, this event is run annually at the WIOA Queensland Conference.
