WIOA takes pride in promoting excellence in water industry operations. One of the ways we do this is through our Awards & Recognition program.

WIOA provides opportunities for the recognition of individual achievements of both Members and other operators employed in the water industry.

Recognition of members contributions to the association (Life Members, IDIOTS)
Recognition of members at the national level (Kwatye Award, Team of the Year Award, PASS Award)
Recognition of operators at the state level (Operator of the Year Awards)
Recognition of contributions at events (Best Paper and Poster Awards)

National Awards

The Water Industry Operators Association of Australia has a number of objectives designed to help us improve the operational performance, efficiency and competency of our members and the water industry in general as well as provide due recognition where it is deserved.

The sharing of information and the development and communication of ‘best practice’ methodologies is also very important.

The KWATYE Award

The award is open to WIOA individual members, to recognise an initiative involving cultural or diversity and inclusion-based activities within a project and/or community in which they serve.

The WIOA Team of the Year award recognises teams of employees working in any part of the water industry that have made an outstanding contribution to their workplace or community.

The PASS award is supported by AquaSafeSkills and provides the opportunity for water industry operational staff to share their in the field innovations and fixes to problems so that others in the water industry can benefit.

State Awards

The sharing of information and the development and communication of “best practice’ methodologies is integral to meeting our objectives.

For many years we have organised conferences and other events to facilitate the exchange of information between operational practitioners and the various industry supply companies. Attending our events, but more importantly, contributing to the information exchange by presenting a paper or poster is a great personal development opportunity for all who participate.
