Website Townsville City Council
Step into a role where you can genuinely shape the future of your community.
We’re looking for an experienced Project Director to lead a small, versatile team delivering key council projects and programs of work from start to finish. You’ll take ownership of the full project lifecycle, from initiation through planning, delivery and completion, while working closely with internal stakeholders to keep everything on track and aligned to Council priorities. In this role, you’ll also act as Superintendent or Principal’s Representative when needed, manage approvals and funding requirements, and ensure projects are delivered to a high professional standard using best practice frameworks.
This is more than just project delivery. It’s a chance to lead, influence and make a lasting impact. You’ll drive complex initiatives, support and mentor up-and-coming project leaders, and work with both internal teams and external partners to get results that matter. Along the way, you’ll help improve how projects are planned and delivered across Council, contributing to better systems, culture and community outcomes.
If you’re someone who can hit the ground running, build strong relationships and take pride in seeing projects through, this is a great opportunity to grow your leadership and make your mark.
