The Job Opportunity:

Support and participate in the implementation and review of Council’s Drinking Water Management System, Dam Safety Management System and Wastewater Quality Management System, WHS systems, and other organisation systems as assigned.
Lead and supervise the operations and maintenance of water supply and sewerage systems within legislative requirements and in accordance with: EPA Licence conditions; Drinking Water Management System; Dam Safety Management System; Wastewater Quality Management System and Council’s agreed Levels of Service.
Lead, manage and mentor a team of W&S Operators and Facilities Attendants designated to work locations, areas and/or projects including provision of ongoing performance feedback, evaluation and development.
Responsible for onsite operations, scheduled preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance as assigned to: sewage process facilities; water supply process facilities.
Responsible for construction, operations, scheduled preventative maintenance, and reactive maintenance as assigned to: water supply networks; sewerage networks.
Responsible for compliance activities including onsite monitoring, inspection and reporting as assigned for o liquid trade waste program: backflow and metering device compliance; developer contributed assets; project site supervision.
Responsible for tracking and monitoring budget expenditure including resourcing and plant expenses on projects and work tasks as assigned.
Liaise with contractors, suppliers and stakeholders in respect to capital and operational projects.
Deliver operational and maintenance scheduling of fleet and equipment utilised by the team and report on maintenance undertaken.
Undertake minor projects in their entirety including scope, budget development, design, installation and commissioning as directed by Coordinators.
Assist Co-ordinators and the Water & Sewer Team in identifying trends and abnormalities within the water and sewer systems, to assist with decision making during operational incidents and identifying assets for renewal/upgrade.
Responsible for responding to escalated alarms and abnormal conditions to implement corrective actions in a safe and timely manner.
Perform emergency response and participate in on-call roster as Supervisor and for operational duties as required.
Identify training requirements for teams of responsibility as assigned, lead training (incl competency-based training) in own areas of expertise and mentor less experienced staff contributing to an efficient, effective team.

This role requires a satisfactory Police History Criminal Check prior to commencing.

To Thrive in Your New Role:

You will do short term and day to day scheduling and monitoring of teams of Water and Sewer Operations.
Be responsible for coordinating operation and maintenance of Council’s infrastructure with other supporting teams.
