Sydney Water hosted the New South Wales Interest Day on Wednesday 4th September at their Purified Recycled Water Discovery Centre, with 50 of our members attending this event in Quakers Hill.
It was a terrific opportunity for WIOA members to see the PRW treatment technology in action and share knowledge across the industry and for Operators from across Australia to learn about how Sydney Water is engaging their customers, communities, and stakeholders about PRW, and how it could help to secure Greater Sydney’s water supply in the future.
As part of the visit, attendees toured the Quakers Hill Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) followed by the Discovery Centre for a full journey of the treatment of wastewater and how to create purified recycled water.
Following the tours, attendees heard from Sydney Water’s Senior Project Manager, James Harrington, along with Senior Process Engineer Stella Modyanto and Production Officer, Caitlin Neill. They presented on our ‘Securing our Water Supply – Quakers Hill to Prospect’ project, collaboration with our regulators, and sharing on the job experiences working in the PRW space at this exciting time.
