Share your experiences by submitting an abstract for a paper or poster to be part of the WIOA program
Abstracts for presentations at the WIOA conferences are currently being accepted.
All water industry personnel involved in the operation and maintenance of urban, rural and industrial water related infrastructure for the management, conveyance, treatment, discharge and reuse of water and trade wastes are invited to submit an abstract for consideration.

Important information
Abstracts
Papers are invited from all sectors of the Water Industry and may address any topic relevant to the Industry including:
- New or innovative technology
- Water resource management
- Advances in water or wastewater treatment
- Trade or industrial waste
- Biosolids or reclaimed water re-use practices
- Automation
- Control of algae in water or wastewater
- Process management or monitoring
- Operations and maintenance
- Asset management
- Safety management or OHS issues
- Improving efficiency
Intending presenters should submit a half page (200 word) abstract in a format compatible with Microsoft Word outlining contents of the proposed Paper to the associated Conference and Exhibition webpage or state section of paper submissions.

– Telephone &/or mobile - Permission
* Late abstracts will not be accepted.
Technical Paper
If your abstract is successful you will be required to prepare a technical paper that will be printed and distributed to attendees in the conference manuscript.
Please ensure the timelines are met as the printing of the manuscript has a allocated time frame that needs to be met.
Structure
Your paper should be no longer than 6 pages in total, including all graphs, charts, photos and tables. The font to be used is Times New Roman at 12 point in size. The margins and spacing between rows should not be changed from the template provided.
The technical paper should include:
- Title (10 word maximum)
- Author name, position and employer (include co-authors if more than 1 author)
- Abstract
- Introduction
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgements
- References
Posters
- Open
- Operator
All poster papers should be a summary of research, trial or operationally based activity and should contain an overview of objectives, methods and materials used, results obtained and conclusions relating to the work undertaken;
Poster specifications
- should not exceed a maximum size of A0 (841mm x 1189mm)
- they should be easily readable from a distance of two meters
- contain photos and charts (where necessary) and
- adequately convey the message using a minimum of text;
Posters should not advertise commercial services, logos or Trademarks. Specific products may be mentioned by name only, in the poster text. Product brochures will not be accepted.
NOTE: It is a condition of entry that a copy of the poster be provided in electronic format for submission into the conference proceedings and for posting to the WIOA website after the conference. Posters will be included in the manuscript and made available in pdf format to conference delegates.
