Nano, Micro, Macro – risks & challenges of dealing with emerging contaminants – Webinar

March 22 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm AEDT

WIOA TALKS are available to members only – if you are not a WIOA member sign up now

What better way to celebrate World Water Day, than with a WIOA Talks webinar!

This month’s WIOA Talks focuses on the risks and challenges of managing catchments and treatment for Emerging Contaminants in both water and wastewater applications. We will hear from a fantastic line-up of speakers who will take us from the miniscule world of nanoparticles, through to the global impacts of microplastics in our environment. We will round out the webinar with a very real incident of macro-level pollution. This will feature an incident where nurdles entered the sewer system and impacted the Warrnambool WWTP operations, Wannon Water’s immediate response and ongoing actions.

WIOA Talks Program:

  1. Nanoparticles and our water supply, should we be concerned? Ian Law – IBL Solutions
  2. International perspectives on microplastics contamination – what can water utilities do about it? Stéphanie Rinck-Pfeiffer – GWRC
  3. What the heck is a nurdle?! Managing the nurdles contamination incident at the Warrnambool WWTP. Ian Bail – Wannon Water

Registration is available to the first 100 members to register and attendees will be contacted with the login instructions, in the lead-up to the event.

The webinar will use the Adobe Connect platform and may require an installation process.
