Meet the Team – Sherryn Wall
Sherryn has been working with WIOA since February 2007. Starting out as a Trainee, Sherryn completed her Certificate III in Business whilst working with WIOA. After finishing the Traineeship WIOA offered Sherryn a full time position in the Administration Team. Coming up to 17 years later, Sherryn is still working with WIOA.
How has your role evolved in your time at WIOA?
In the early years I was the only admin staff member and was doing all of the administration paperwork on my own. Back then WIOA had 616 Individual Members and 163 Corporate Members, and we had just started expanding the Conferences and Exhibitions outside of VIC and into QLD & NSW. As WIOA continued to expand we had Ann Austin start as a second administrator and we shared the role for a number of years. The continued expansion of WIOA has seen it get to what it is today with over 4,400 Members, with a third administrator Ella Wilson starting as a Trainee in 2023.
In 2022 a restructure of WIOA saw a new opportunity come my way to take on the Digital Design Coordinator role. This involves maintaining the WIOA website and social media platforms, designing the WIOA magazine and newsletters and their distribution, designing our digital materials, as well as designing the mobile app that we use at conferences.
Best part about working with WIOA?
I have always enjoyed attending the Conferences. To get out there and meet the people you email in person and network face-to-face is great. I have met so many great people along the way and some have become life long friends. Travelling to new places is something I enjoy doing, so its always nice to stop and have a quick look around each place we hold an event!
