Job Description:
Falls Creek Alpine Resort is seeking a skilled and experienced Treatment Plant Operator to maintain and operate the Falls Creek Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Water Supply to the performance levels required for Falls Creek operations and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the WWTP, ensuring that all aspects of the plant are operating in accordance with regulatory requirements and within budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
– Maintain and operate the Falls Creek Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Water Supply.
– Monitor and maintain plant processes to ensure optimal performance, including the efficient use of energy and resources.
– Ensure compliance with relevant environmental and regulatory standards, including EPA guidelines.
– Complete routine maintenance tasks and respond to breakdowns as required.
– Maintain accurate records and provide reports as required.
– Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all plant equipment.
– Support the development of new procedures and processes to improve plant performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
– A relevant qualification in engineering, environmental science, or equivalent experience.
– Previous experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant is desirable but not required. We can offer training to the right candidate if needed
– Experience in operating and maintaining water supply systems.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– A demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and environmental management.
– The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
– A willingness to work flexible hours and be available for on-call duties as required.
– A current driver’s license is essential, and previous experience driving in an alpine environment is preferred.

Why: This is a replacement position in the FCAR team, reporting to the Assets and Maintenance Manager
When: An immediate start is available however, we are willing to be flexible for the right candidate. Full-time, ongoing role, 9.5 hour days, 4 on 3 off arrangement.
Remuneration: $60 – $79k per annum, plus Super, 15 days of personal leave, free mountain pass, gym pass, and lift pass for Full Time workers, along with access to salary packaging.
Where: Onsite at Falls Creek Alpine Resort – due to the nature of the role, this role cannot be offered in a hybrid arrangement.
