About the role
In this role you will contribute to the continued development and implementation of the Integrated Water Management Strategy for Townsville, through the development and review of models and analysis as relevant to water engineering projects and programs of work. You will also complete or tender and review relevant engineering designs and concepts for water related projects and programs of work. Were required you may also be required to manage the implementation of small scale water capital projects.
You will provide technical input into review and analysis of policy, legislation, guidelines and licensing relating to water resources management and provide specialist and technical advice and input on monitoring programs and the preparation of water resources management plans.
Specifically you will deliver projects in:
- Water management investigations (loss and demand management)
- hydraulic modelling of network performance
- Water balances
- Water systems engineering.
- Water Treatment
About you
Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in civil, chemical, or environmental engineering along with a minimum of 5 years Professional experience relevant to the role. Desirably you will have RPEQ certification or eligibility to register for certification.
You will have detailed knowledge and technical understanding of water resource management including water network and treatment system design and operation and the ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within a team across diverse projects and tasks. Desirably you would have GIS experience.
You will have a demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a team with solid time management and organisational skills and have highly developed interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal) and negotiating skills.
