Are you an accomplished professional in water engineering, poised to make a substantial impact in a dynamic setting? We are in search of a motivated individual to join our team as a Principal Process Engineer within the Water Treatment Program of the Infrastructure and Operations directorate.

As a Principal Process Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Water and Waste Services. Operating at a senior level, you will lead a multidisciplinary team, providing technical expertise and strategic guidance to optimise treatment plant operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the Water Treatment team, ensuring strict adherence to procedures and policies.
  • Develop and oversee work initiatives for timely and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Implement Council’s policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Supervise treatment processes, optimise plant operations, and provide guidance to plant operators.
  • Manage budgets, develop replacement programs, and ensure the timely submission of information.

Position Requirements:

  • Qualifications: QLD C Class Drivers Licence, Construction Industry White Card, Tertiary Qualifications in a related field (e.g., Bachelor of Engineering).
  • Experience: Extensive background in the water industry, with a track record of leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability to operate complex treatment plants, project management skills, excellent communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge: Substantial understanding of water science, engineering principles, and relevant legislation.

Special Requirements:

Some out-of-hours work and domestic travel may be expected.
