The Operations Engineer plays a vital role in representing our operators and providing operations-based technical direction in infrastructure planning initiatives and technical reviews.
In this role you will operate within our quality systems (Drinking Water Quality Management System, Environmental Management System and Safety Management System) to maintain a continual improvement focus on the delivery of water and wastewater services.
This is an exciting opportunity to use operational data, business strategy and regulatory compliance pathways to influence, direct and inform major projects and renewals to drive sustainable best practice operations.
This role is a full-time, 2-year opportunity, including a monthly RDO and flexible work options.
Key Responsibilities
· Providing high level, operations-based technical direction into master planning and major project delivery.
· Performing a strong advocacy role during the design, construction, commissioning and operations of all new and upgraded infrastructure.
· Representing operations in risk assessments, HAZOPS, design reviews and implementation activities.
· Ensuring upgrades to treatment processes ensure the quality of treated water and wastewater meets or exceeds regulatory requirements and expectations.
· Undertaking regular site visits to ensure capital projects are meeting the needs of operations, building a working knowledge of the plants and providing specialised advice.
· Driving the implementation of consistent standards and process across treatment plants during the capital project lifecycles.
· Undertaking project management of small capital works as required.

Key Selection Criteria
1. Ability to perform an advocacy role and successfully liaise between two different areas of the business to identify positive outcomes.
2. Advanced communication skills with the ability to work with a range of stakeholders to gain cooperation and support in resolving challenges and influence decision making to achieve project outcomes.
3. Demonstrated ability to undertake technical engineering reviews and data analysis to drive best practice operations.
4. Relevant Engineering qualification and substantial demonstrated experience in water and/or wastewater treatment or process engineering in a related field.

Position Information
· An attractive total remuneration package is available, depending on skills and experience.
· This is a full time, 2-year limited tenure position.
