Port Macquarie Hastings Council (PMHC) is seeking an experienced manager, to oversee the operational and strategic management of the Utilities Operations Group (Water, Sewer and Waste). The Position

As Group Manager Utilities Operations, your focus will be on leading and managing the efficient and effective provision of maintenance, operation and construction services for all water, sewer and waste facilities.  Our ideal candidate has significant experience in sustainably managing human, physical and financial resources within an organisation in the Utilities sector, and be able to drive organisational improvements, ensuring PMHC delivers high quality services that meet the needs of our growing community.

We are looking for someone who is responsive, open and engaging, while understanding the needs, concerns and aspirations of the community. A background in budget development, planning, managing complex reports and setting financial targets is essential.

As part of the Community Utilities Division’s leadership team, you will have significant involvement in setting the strategic policy direction, planning and implementation of our utilities services, the development, updating and maintenance of our Asset Management Plans, and the delivery of capital projects.

You will on occasion be the spokesperson to media providing updates on projects and other operational issues as they arise.

The successful candidate will hold an engineering related degree with knowledge of the waste industry or an environmental science based degree with significant knowledge and/or experience of water, sewer and waste. For a full overview of the role, please view the Position Description.
