Morgan Water Treatment Plants produces South Australia's top drop in 2016
WIOA is pleased to announce the Best Tasting Tap Water in South Australia is produced by the SAWater operators from the Morgan Valley Water Treatment Plant.
Four finalists were chosen from 16 samples from across the state using a “Masterchef” style tasting by attendees at a water interest day held at the TAFE SA Tonsley Campus on Wednesday 6 July 2016.
The four finalists were:
- Mount Pleasant Water Treatment Plant
- Morgan Water Treatment Plant
- Penneshaw Water Treatment Plant
- Summit Storage
Water experts judge samples on aroma, clarity and taste at the Annual South Australia Water Industry Operators Association of Australia (WIOA) water interest day to determine who produces South Australia’s “top drop”.
This was thesecond time, water authorities in South Australia have battled it out to see who produces the best tasting tap water in the state in the Ixom South Australia Water Taste Test.
With a capacity of 200 ML/day the Morgan WTP plant employs conventional treatment, biological filtration and chloramination. It supplies more than 130,000 people in regional SA.
