Located in the northern rivers area of NSW, Rous County Council is a special-purpose local government organisation that delivers bulk water and provides flood mitigation and weed biosecurity services.
Sitting within the Operations Branch, the core function of this role is to carry out the maintenance, installation and repair of Council’s mechanical, piping and metalwork assets to the required level of service.
Qualifications and experience
This role requires a Trade qualified Mechanical Engineer with Cert IV or equivalent and demonstrated experience in the maintenance and repair of pumps and motors and pneumatic and mechanical drive systems. Skills in metal fabrication, welding and toolmaking are also an essential requirement for this position.
Previous experience in the area of water treatment for public water supply purposes and the use of computerised management systems is desirable.

Conditions of employment
Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government State Award 2017. Salary range $64,235 – $75,145 per annum based on skills and experience plus statutory superannuation (9.5%) and generous working conditions including a 76 hour, nine-day fortnight. A satisfactory health assessment, including drug screening is a pre-requisite to an offer of employment.
