Glenelg Hopkins Catchment Management Authority (GHCMA) is a Victorian Government statutory authority established in 1997 to ensure the protection and sustainable development of land, vegetation and water resources within the south west region of Victoria. Spanning 26,000 km², the catchment stretches from inland at Ballarat to the coast of Warrnambool, and west to the border with South Australia. It is one of Australia’s most productive agricultural areas. The region is renowned for its scenic beauty, iconic landscapes, dramatic coastline, extensive wetlands and rich biodiversity.
Reporting to the Board, you will oversee and manage the delivery of GHCMA’s strategic plan, ensuring the organisation is best positioned to carry out projects that add value to the region. You will actively build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including all levels of government, other CMAs and members of the agricultural community. You will work collaboratively with these stakeholders to ensure the CMA continues to enjoy their support, receives funding, and maintains its positive reputation within the sector. Furthermore, you will provide exceptional leadership to staff, enabling them to remain engaged in their work and committed to the strategic direction of the organisation.
As an established senior executive with commercial and technical expertise, you are renowned for your consultative leadership style and excellent relationship management skills. With considerable experience within a public sector environment, you could come from a range of backgrounds however some exposure to natural resource management would be extremely beneficial. As an empowering and approachable leader, you are committed to people development and working in collaboration with staff to achieve results.
