Tasmanian Operator Awards Announced

Congratulations to the two major WIOA award winners that were announced at a water interest day held in Longford on Wednesday 6 December 2017.

David Stacey was announced as the 2017 WIOA Tasmanian Operator of the Year, and Robert McDonald was awarded the 2017 WIOA Tasmanian Young Operator of the Year. Both awards are sponsored by TasWater as part of their rewards and recognition programs and we thanks the TasWater team for their support of these fantastic awards that recognise the operational employees for the dedication and work they undertake.

Both David and Robert will now join other WIOA members and award winners from other states across Australia on a tour to New Zealand water facilities in 2018. The tour will leave Australia on Friday 4 May 2018 and return from New Zealand on Saturday 12 May 2018 and includes the Water Industry Operations Group New Zealand Conference to be held at the Convention Centre, Palmerston North from 9 to 11 May 2018.

Congratulations to both David and Robert and to all the other nominees for these awards, unfortunately there can only be one winner and the fields of applicants was of a very high standard.

PASS Award Applications Invited

All operational staff are invited to share their in the field innovations & fixes to problems so that others in the water industry can benefit.

The winner will join the WIOA team on their annual operational tour of New Zealand including attendance at the Water Industry Operations Group of NZ annual conference

Applications for the 2017 award will close on 1st March 2018.
